Tetiana (Tanja) Havlin is a sociologist, researcher and lecturer in the department of sociology of Universität Siegen, Germany, with a focus on the analysis of social structures and social inequality in Europe. Additionally she is adjunct faculty at the University of Maryland University College Europe, where she teaches introduction to sociology. She has participated as a visiting lecturer at Universidade da Coruña's Interational Summer School several times, with courses and modules on varied topics such as civil disobedience and democratic transition, or diversity management. Currently her research and writing is devoted to human agency, social movements, migration, and incorporation strategies in Europe. She obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Mechnikov Odessa National University (Ukraine) and a PhD from Karazin Kharkov National University (Ukraine).
